Trimble signs new two year IRFU deal

The IRFU announced today that Ulster’s Andrew Trimble has signed a new deal, committing him to the province until June 2017.

Trimble has made 188 appearances for Ulster since his debut in 2006, scoring 64 tries. He has also played for Ireland 57 times, scoring 16 tries.

Trimble, who is currently out of action with a toe injury, welcomed the opportunity to re-commit to Ulster and irish rugby.

"I am delighted to have signed with Ulster for a further two years,” he said. “I hope to be back playing soon and will be aiming to put myself in the frame for selection for Ulster and Ireland over the coming months.

"2015 will be an exciting year at both provincial and national level and I hope to play a role in the coming years in the continuing success of Irish rugby."

The 30-year-old last played for Ireland in June 2014 and scored three tries for Ireland during last year’s winning Six Nations campaign.
