Samoan women’s player sees red for horrific spear tackle

Samoan rugby player Soteria Pulumu was handed a rare straight red card after a recklessly dangerous spear tackle during their opening game of the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Samoa were taking on England in France yesterday evening when full-back Pulumu was sent off for this nasty looking tip-tackle on England number nine Natasha Hunt.

Amazingly, Hunt wasn’t injured and was able to play on.

Down to 14 players for the rest of the game Samoa were no match for England and were beaten comprehensively on a scoreline of 65-3.
