Tries for the winning side came from Piutau and Read, both of which were converted by Carter and Cruden.

Carter also slotted four penalties between the posts to round out the tally.

France had to be content with a single try from Dulin, converted by Parra, who also put away a single penalty to provide the hosts with 19 points.
