Ireland have been defeated 13-10 by England in their 6 Nations clash today.

Despite some late pressure from Ireland, England held on to record a narrow win in a hard-fought match at Twickenham.

Danny Care’s snapshot score denied Ireland the Triple Crown and dreams of a first Grand Slam since 2009 as England ruined Brian O’Driscoll’s Twickenham farewell.

Rob Kearney’s try straight after half-time edged Ireland into a 10-3 lead.

But England blasted straight back through Care’s score and clung on for their second victory of the RBS 6 Nations campaign.

The win set up a four-way fight for the title, with Ireland, England, Wales and France all suffering one defeat in the tournament’s first three rounds.
