Dramatic fight scenes break out as Clermont team arrives in Shannon airport
The Clermont Auvergne rugby team got a rather unusual welcome to Munster territory this afternoon after touching down at Shannon airport.
Facing into a war with Champions Cup Pool 1 leaders Munster at Thomond Park tomorrow evening - little did the Clermont players expected the battle to commence the minute they got off the plane.
Players from Bunratty Castle & Folk Park welcomed the bemused rugby stars by staging a mock battle with ‘French’ counterparts right in the arrivals hall.
To be fair to the Clermont players they seemed to get a kick out of the guys in the end, even if the Munster guys did win the fight.
