Connacht’s Russian adventure is turning into a nightmare, with the squad struggling to get out of the country more than two days after their match ended.
The province recorded a 31-14 victory against Siberian team Enisei-STM in their opening game of the Challenge Cup, but their problems began when they tried to leave as scheduled.

The team were due back into Shannon on a chartered flight on Saturday night, but their aircraft developed problems and they were sent back to their hotel.
The squad tried to get themselves back on Irish time while waiting for alternative travel arrangements to be made.

Rather than wait for the charter company to organise a replacement flight, the squad have been split into a number of groups trying to get back on commercial flights.
Back row John Muldoon seems to be keeping a sense of humour about their advntures, reporting on Twitter that “BO levels (were) at an all time high”.
