Munster 19 Leinster 9
Munster have been crowned Magners League champions after overcoming an out of sorts Leinster side at Thomond Park Stadium this evening.
A superb Lifeimi Mafi solo-run put fellow Kiwi Doug Howlett in for a 11th minute try with the boot of Jonathan Sexton keeping Leinster in touch.
The Munster pack led by the superb David Wallace, celebrating his 200th cap for the province, monopolised possession for long periods and after another sustained spell of pressure, Ronan O’Gara fired a pin-point crosskick to send Keith Earls over in the corner in the 60th minute.
Joe Schmidt’s side suffered the ignominy of conceding a late penalty try, after a powerful Munster scrummage, to wrap up the contest and send the Thomond Park faithful into raptures.
