Australian rugby league centre Greg Inglis has entered a mental health rehabilitation clinic, South Sydney have revealed.
The 30-year-old Rabbitohs captain, who is out for the season with a knee injury, entered the facility last week and will be undergoing a series of programmes and treatments to assist with his mental health, his club have said.
"The Rabbitohs, Greg and his management will not be making any further comment at this stage, and we ask the media to respect the privacy of both Greg and his family at this time," the club said in a statement.
Inglis, the Queensland and Kangaroos regular who won the Golden Boot as international player of the year in 2009, has not played since damaging his ACL in the opening game of the season in March.
Inglis was in the Australia team that beat New Zealand 34-8 in the Four Nations final at Anfield in November but has already been ruled out of the end-of-year World Cup.
