Rotherham deny Gazza link
Rotherham have denied reports that Paul Gascoigne is to take Ronnie Moore’s job as manager.
Reports strongly linked the former England midfielder with the Millmoor job following the club’s purchase by new owners – with some even suggesting he had accepted the post.
Gascoigne will attend the South Yorkshire club’s Coca-Cola Championship game at home to Plymouth tomorrow, but only as a guest of prospective new owners Darren Millington and Mike Worthington, who are set to take over on November 1.
Earlier this month Gascoigne left Boston after joining as a player-coach in the summer.
Manager Steve Evans was full of praise for the Geordie after his departure and revealed other clubs had already been in touch to enquire about the former Spurs, Lazio and Rangers star.
But Millington told BBC Radio Sheffield: “Paul is a friend of mine and he’s coming to make the half-time draw.
“We have spoken to people in the football industry, one of which was Bryan Robson, but only for guidance.”
And Millington insisted Moore’s time at Millmoor is not necessarily coming to an end.
“Ronnie has done a great job at Millmoor and we’re not ruling him out of the equation.
“We’ve got to sit down with him and ensure that we’re heading in the right direction.”
