Wayne Rooney was not included in the Manchester United squad for Alex Ferguson’s final game at Old Trafford.
Although Paul Scholes was chosen as anticipated after announcing his retirement yesterday,
Rooney was not named by Ferguson, who revealed on Wednesday that his amazing 27-year reign is coming to an end.
Instead, Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez were selected in attack, with mid-table Swansea cast in the role of party poopers.
