Robson's Toon days numbered
01/08/2004 - 10:54:26Newcastle manager Bobby Robson has been told he is entering his last season in charge at St James’ Park.
The 71-year-old’s contract runs out at the end of the forthcoming season and he will not be offered a new one.
Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd told the Sunday Mirror: “Sir Bobby Robson’s contract expires at the end of the season. We have no plans to extend that arrangement.
“Sir Bobby has given the club great service and we fervently hope he can bow out with a trophy. But this is his sixth season at the club and we have to look to the future.”
