The Italy international, 25, joined Roma last summer from Parma and made 35 league appearances for the Giallorossi last season and will provide defensive cover at Goodison Park.

“Ferrari will play on loan at Everton,” his representative Giovanni Corci told Italian radio station Radio Incontro.

Everton will have the option to buy the player’s transfer rights next summer for £3.7m (€5.4m).
