On the first day of the Galway Races, jockeys will be feeling a bit better after the support of a young Sligo boy.
There are few sportspeople who take on as much risk as jockeys and Barry McNamara was thinking of these men and women when he gave €25 of his Communion money to Irish Injured Jockeys.
McNamara added in an accompanying letter that he’s a horse-rider too, with a pony called Speckles, and AP McCoy is his favourite jockey - although his mum prefers Davy Russell...

He chose a truly worthy cause too, one which helps injured jockeys on the road back to health.
