Precautionary check at Wincanton
Wincanton’s jumps meeting tomorrow is subject to an 8am precautionary inspection on raceday morning.
Although the ground is currently soft, heavy rain has been forecast for this evening.
The Somerset venue also sustained four millimetres of overnight rainfall.
Clerk of the course Barry Johnson said: ``The forecast is horrendous from 4pm.
“We could easily get 20mm of rain, possibly even more than that.
“We are perfectly raceable, but we’d be struggling with 20mm-plus (of rain).”
