Saturday’s meeting at Lingfield has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

Officials at the Surrey venue, which was due to host the December Novices’ Chase and Summit Junior Hurdle, had planned an inspection for 8am.

However, clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie Ross was forced to abandon after taking an earlier look.

He said: “We are waterlogged and it is raining now and the forecast is for more rain this morning. We are unraceable at present and we wouldn’t have enough time to get it back.”
