Jamie Codd became the luckiest winner ever of a Point to Point race when he rode Rebel Benefit to victory in the Borris Point to Point on Sunday.
Rebell Benefit and his jockey were well back from the leaders during the race before a catalogue of errors by the runners and riders in front eventually left them to claim the win.
When the video begins it looks to be a two horse race between Laid Back Luke and Say Geronimo before both manage to rule themselves out of contention, apparently by straying from the official track.
That appears to give the horse in front of Rebel Benefit the initiative, but he promptly unseats his rider at the next fence, blocking a few of the other horses in the process.
After that many calamities the race commentator is afraid to call the winner, in case Rebel Benefit decides to start running backwards or something similarly ludicrous, but Codd gets him safely over the remaining jump and home in first.
Some days the winner is just meant to be.
With thanks to P2P.ie for the video on their Facebook page.
