Green light for Redcar

This afternoon's meeting at Redcar goes ahead after course officials cancelled an intended precautionary inspection at 7.30am.

A dry night meant an assessment of conditions was not necessary.

The going is currently heavy.

But with the ground still troublesome towards the seven- and eight-furlong poles, the stalls will not used for the first three races.

Redcar clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson said: "We've ben dry for the past 24 hours so there was no need to inspect.

"The going is heavy, with a chance of a light shower, but there are no problems."
