Wednesday's card at Leicester will be an all-chase affair after officials decided to call off the four scheduled hurdles.
Clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson reports the chase track to be in better shape than the hurdles course at present and feels the decision gives the meeting the best chance of going ahead.
He said: "We had a look at 10am and while the hurdles track is just about raceable, we have heavy rain forecast tonight and more rain about tomorrow too.
"We think this decision gives the meeting the best chance and the ground is soft, heavy in places.
"Obviously we do have rain forecast so we might need another inspection, it really is on a knife edge, but we have no inspection plans at the moment."
