Paul Carberry has been cleared to ride Monbeg Dude in this afternoon’s Crabbie’s Grand National at Aintree.
Carberry was hurt following a fall from Kauto Stone in what turned out to be an eventful renewal of the Topham Chase on Friday.
Carberry went to hospital for precautionary X-rays which returned clear but he did not see the racecourse doctor until after midday.
However, the British Horseracing Authority tweeted: “Jockey update: Paul Carberry passed fit to ride by Racecourse Medical Officer.”
Noel Fehily, who came down on Fago, was earlier passed fit, as was Andrew Tinkler, who hurt his wrist in a fall from Tanks For That.
Fehily will ride Rocky Creek and Tinkler will ride Hunt Ball.
One jockey not so lucky, however, was Mikey Fogarty, due to ride Vesper Bell in the big race.
He had a fall from Bishopsfurze and has been replaced in the National by Katie Walsh.
