Chatting with Donal Lenihan at the Irish Examiner Ronan O’Gara Ruby Walsh Breakfast at the Clarion Hotel, Cork, O'Gara wondered if England kicker George Ford might prove a weakness Ireland can exploit in Sunday’s Six Nations clash.
O’Gara suggested that real pressure arrives just once or twice a season and noted that in Ford’s last truly big game - the Amlin Cup final - he had “a shocker off the tee”.
ROG suggested that even a visit to Cardiff - which Ford safely negotiated - can’t compare with an Ireland-England game in Dublin.
And he wondered how much of Ford’s natural kicking game is left, after his work with kicking guru Dave Alred, admitting he will be fascinated to see if Ford’s technique can withstand the Lansdowne heat.
