Southampton v Tottenham Saturday April 25 12.45pm

Southampton: Alderweireld set to feature

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is confident of being able to call upon Toby Alderweireld against Tottenham this weekend.

The Belgium defender left the field on a stretcher at Stoke last week with what the Saints boss said was a “dislocated shoulder”, yet he is in line to feature against Spurs on Saturday.

Victor Wanyama (suspension) and Filip Djuricic (ankle) remain absent, as do Fraser Forster, Jay Rodriguez and Emmanuel Mayuka. Sam Gallagher will not feature, despite scoring the winner in Monday’s Under-21 Premier League Cup final.

Provisional squad: K Davis, Gazzaniga, Clyne, Bertrand, Targett, Yoshida, Gardos, McCarthy, Alderweireld, Fonte, Schneiderlin, Reed, Ward-Prowse, S Davis, Elia, Tadic, Mane, Long, Seager, Pelle.

Tottenham: Spurs to make late call on Lloris

Hugo Lloris’ knee injury will be assessed ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Southampton on Saturday.

The France goalkeeper has been out for three matches since sustaining the injury against Leicester but could return for Mauricio Pochettino’s first game back at former club Saints.

Right-back Kyle Walker is out for four more weeks after suffering a foot injury against Burnley last month and could miss the rest of the season.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Friedel, Yedlin, Chiriches, Kaboul, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose, Davies, Bentaleb, Paulinho, Mason, Stambouli, Dembele, Eriksen, Townsend, Lamela, Chadli, Kane, Adebayor, Soldado.

Stoke City v Sunderland Saturday Saturday April 25 3pm

Stoke City: Odemwingie set for Stoke return

Long-term injury absentee Peter Odemwingie is set to make his Stoke return on Saturday when Sunderland visit the Britannia Stadium.

Potters boss Mark Hughes has revealed Odemwingie, who has not been involved on a matchday since suffering a serious knee problem in August, is likely to be among the substitutes for the Barclays Premier League clash with the Black Cats.

Midfielder Stephen Ireland is available despite coming off at half-time of last weekend’s 2-1 win over Southampton with a knock, but defender Marc Muniesa remains sidelined by a hamstring complaint.

Provisional squad: Begovic, Butland, Shawcross, Wilson, Wollscheid, Bardsley, Pieters, Teixeira, Cameron, Whelan, Adam, Nzonzi, Sidwell, Ireland, Arnautovic, Diouf, Walters, Crouch, Odemwingie.

Sunderland: Johnson available for Sunderland

Adam Johnson is available to Sunderland head coach Dick Advocaat for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League trip to Stoke despite being charged with three offences of sexual activity with a child under 16 and one of grooming.

Advocaat will leave it to the winger to decide if he is ready to be involved at the Britannia Stadium, but the club has not re-imposed the suspension to which he was subject when he was arrested last month.

However, striker Steven Fletcher is out after travelling to London to consult a specialist over an ankle problem, and he joins the suspended Sebastian Larsson and injured defender Wes Brown (knee), as well as fellow midfielders Ricky Alvarez (also knee) and Emanuele Giaccherini (ankle), on the sidelines.

Provisional squad: Pantilimon, Mannone, Reveillere, Van Aanholt, Jones, O’Shea, Vergini, Coates, Cattermole, Bridcutt, Rodwell, Johnson, Gomez, Buckley, Defoe, Wickham, Graham, Watmore.

Burnley FC v Leicester City Saturday Saturday April 25 3pm

Burnley FC: No new injury worries for Dyche

Burnley have no fresh injury concerns for their crucial Barclays Premier League relegation battle with Leicester at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Defender Steven Reid (calf) is back in contention and midfielder Ross Wallace (knee) has suffered no ill effects following his recent return to action.

The only notable absentees are long-term knee injury victims Dean Marney and Kevin Long.

Provisional squad: Heaton, Gilks, Mee, Duff, Shackell, Keane, Reid, Ward, Trippier, Barnes, Wallace, Arfield, Jones, Taylor, Boyd, Kightly, Vokes, Jutkiewicz, Ings, Sordell.

Leicester City: Nugent doubtful for Foxes

David Nugent is a major doubt for Leicester’s crunch trip to Burnley.

The striker suffered a calf injury in the warm-up ahead of last Saturday’s 2-0 win over Swansea and boss Nigel Pearson rates him as “touch and go”.

Marcin Wasilewski should be fit after coming off against the Swans with a dead leg while Dean Hammond continued his recovery from a calf injury, playing over an hour in the Under-21s’ 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Monday.

Provisional squad: Schmeichel, Schwarzer, Hamer, Simpson, Moore, De Laet, Huth, Morgan, Upson, Wasilewski, Konchesky, Hammond, Mahrez, Schlupp, Cambiasso, Knockaert, King, Drinkwater, James, Albrighton, Ulloa, Vardy, Kramaric, Nugent.

Crystal Palace v Hull City Saturday Saturday April 25 3pm

Crystal Palace: Lee returns for Eagles

Lee Chung-yong could feature for Crystal Palace for the first time since his January move from Bolton after recovering from a foot fracture in time for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League clash with Hull.

Jordon Mutch is also expected to be involved at Selhurst Park after hip trouble.

Strikers Marouane Chamakh and Fraizer Campbell will miss out again, however. Both players are back in training after hamstring trouble but are not yet ready to return.

Provisional squad: Speroni, Hennessey, Souare, Mariappa, Hangeland, Ward, Dann, Delaney, Kelly, Ledley, Jedinak, Puncheon, McArthur, Bolasie, Zaha, Murray, Sanogo, Gayle, Ameobi, Lee, Mutch.

Hull City: Diame doubtful for Tigers

Mo Diame appears unlikely to make his return to the Hull starting line-up at Crystal Palace after reporting a sore knee in training.

The Senegal midfielder, who came off the bench against Southampton after a long injury absence, will be assessed before the match while manager Steve Bruce also has to cope without David Meyler (suspended), Andy Robertson (ankle) and Curtis Davies (thigh).

Alex Bruce’s badly broken nose also makes him a doubt, while Steve Harper is expected to continue in goal in place of the out-of-form Allan McGregor.

Provisional squad: McGregor, Harper, Dawson, McShane, Bruce, Chester, Rosenior, Brady, Elmohamady, Livermore, Diame, Huddlestone, Quinn, Hernandez, Aluko, N’Doye, Sagbo.

Newcastle v Swansea City Saturday April 25 3pm

Newcastle: De Jong returns for Magpies

Siem de Jong will be in the Newcastle squad for the first time since August after recovering from a collapsed lung.

The Holland midfielder will be included after undergoing surgery to repair the lung, and he will be joined by striker Facundo Ferreyra, who has not made the squad since November because of a back problem. Jonas Gutierrez, who was left out last weekend following a training-ground row with head coach John Carver, is also back.

Midfielder Moussa Sissoko completes his two-match ban while striker Papiss Cisse sits out the sixth instalment of his seven-game suspension. Although defender Paul Dummett (knee) and midfielder Rolando Aarons are close to returns, goalkeeper Rob Elliot will not play again this season after damaging a thigh muscle.

Provisional squad: Krul, Woodman, Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, R Taylor, Satka, Sterry, Abeid, Anita, Colback, Gouffran, Cabella, De Jong, Ameobi, Obertan, Gutierrez, Kemen, Riviere, Perez, Armstrong, Ferreyra.

Swansea City: Montero may feature against Magpies

Jefferson Montero is pushing for a start as Swansea seek to bounce back from defeat at Leicester for their Barclays Premier League trip to Newcastle.

The Ecuador winger has not started since mid-February after falling victim to a new system and then a hamstring injury, but he played the last half-hour at Leicester last weekend and might benefit if manager Garry Monk considers changes at St James’ Park.

Bafetimbi Gomis remains out with a hamstring problem so loan signing Nelson Oliveira deputises up front again, while central defender Jordi Amat should fill in at full-back once more as Neil Taylor completes a two-match suspension.

Provisional squad: Fabianski, Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Amat, Cork, Ki, Shelvey, Routledge, Sigurdsson, Oliveira, Tremmel, Bartley, Fulton, Britton, Montero, Dyer, Emnes, Grimes, King.

West Brom v Liverpool Saturday April 25 3pm

West Brom: No Wisdom for Baggies

Andre Wisdom is ineligible to play parent club Liverpool when they face West Brom at The Hawthorns.

The defender is sidelined along with Youssouf Mulumbu who serves the final game of his three-match ban while Ben Foster remains a long-term absentee with a knee injury.

Craig Dawson is fit, though, despite limping off against Crystal Palace with a dead leg with the defender set to keep his place.

Provisional squad: Myhill, Rose, Gamboa, Pocognoli, Dawson, McAuley, Lescott, Olsson, Brunt, Baird, Fletcher, Gardner, McManaman, Morrison, Yacob, Sessegnon, Anichebe, Berahino, Ideye.

Liverpool: Sturridge to miss West Brom clash

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will miss his third successive match as he has still not recovered from a hip injury to face West Brom.

Defender Mamadou Sakho (thigh) and midfielder Lucas Leiva (thigh) are also ruled out of the trip but winger Jordon Ibe returns after being ineligible for last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final.

Midfielder Adam Lallana (groin) and long-time absentee Jon Flanagan (knee) have returned to training but both are doubtful.

Provisional squad: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Lovren, Ibe, Henderson, Allen, Moreno, Coutinho, Sterling, Balotelli, Jones, Johnson, Manquillo, Toure, Markovic, Gerrard, Brannagan, Lambert, Borini.

QPR v West Ham Saturday April 25 3pm

QPR: Fer close to Rangers return

QPR manager Chris Ramsey will make a late decision on whether to risk Leroy Fer for Saturday’s crucial match at home to West Ham.

Fer is close to overcoming a knee injury that has kept him out since February, while Yun Suk-young is also available having recovered from concussion.

Richard Dunne is fit again after returning from a knee injury but Rio Ferdinand (knock), Eduardo Vargas and Alejandro Faurlin (both knee) remain sidelined.

Provisional squad: Green, McCarthy, Isla, Dunne, Onuoha, Caulker, Hill, Yun, Phillips, Fer, Sandro, Barton, Kranjcar, Hoilett, Grego-Cox, Henry, Sutherland, Austin, Taarabt, Zamora.

West Ham: Hammers remain light on numbers

West Ham will be unable to welcome back any of their injured players for Saturday’s trip to relegation-threatened QPR.

Sam Allardyce’s Hammers have won just once in their last 12 games and are still without James Tomkins (shoulder), Andy Carroll (knee) and Diafra Sakho (thigh).

Meanwhile, a calf injury picked up by full-back Guy Demel has also left Allardyce short of options in defence.

Provisional squad: Adrian, Jaaskelainen, Jenkinson, Cresswell, O’Brien, Reid, Collins, Oxford, Noble, Kouyate, Song, Nolan, Amalfitano, Downing, Jarvis, Nene, Valencia, Cole.

Man City v Aston Villa Saturday April 25 5.30pm

Man City: Silva fit to face Villa

Manchester City playmaker David Silva is available to face Aston Villa in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday after being given the all-clear following a facial injury.

Striker Wilfried Bony (foot) and midfielder James Milner (knee) are also fit again but midfielder Samir Nasri has joined the casualty list with a groin problem.

Captain Vincent Kompany (groin) remains on the sidelines for at least another fortnight while defender Gael Clichy and striker Stevan Jovetic are also out.

Provisional squad: Hart, Caballero, Zabaleta, Sagna, Demichelis, Mangala, Boyata, Kolarov, Silva, Navas, Milner, Toure, Fernando, Fernandinho, Lampard, Aguero, Dzeko, Bony, Pozo.

Aston Villa

Everton v Man United Sunday April 26 1.30pm

Everton: Pienaar a doubt for Toffees

Everton’s Steven Pienaar is a major doubt for Sunday’s visit of Manchester United after struggling with muscle fatigue.

However, fellow midfielders Leon Osman (groin) and James McCarthy (ankle) both returned to training on Friday and should be available.

Striker Romelu Lukaku reported no after-effects from his first appearance in a month last weekend.

Provisional squad: Howard, Coleman, Jagielka, Stones, Baines, Lennon, Barry, McCarthy, Barkley, Osman, Lukaku, Robles, Alcaraz, Garbutt, Besic, Mirallas, McGeady, Naismith, Kone.

Man United: Possible return for Agbonlahor

Gabriel Agbonlahor could return for Aston Villa at Manchester City after missing their FA Cup semi-final win over Liverpool with a hamstring injury.

The forward will be assessed but Philippe Senderos (thigh) and Aly Cissokho (groin) are available while Jack Grealish is in the squad despite a picture, taken last year, of him inhaling nitrous oxide emerging this week.

Ciaran Clark and Nathan Baker (both knee) are unlikely to play again this season while Alan Hutton is progressing after an ankle injury but will not make the trip. Scott Sinclair is ineligible against his parent club.

Provisional squad: Given, Guzan, Lowton, Bacuna, Vlaar, Okore, Senderos, Cissokho, Richardson, Cole, Delph, Cleverley, Grealish, Westwood, N’Zogbia, Gil, Benteke, Agbonlahor, Weimann.

Arsenal v Chelsea Sunday April 26 4pm

Arsenal: Gunners wait on Mertesacker

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker is doubtful for Sunday’s match against Barclays Premier League leaders Chelsea because of an ankle injury.

Gabriel Paulista is ready to come at centre-half. Goalkeeper David Ospina as well as full-backs Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal are expected to return, having sat out last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final against Reading at Wembley.

Captain Mikel Arteta (ankle) and midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (groin) are still not match fit.

Provisional squad: Ospina, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, Sanchez, Giroud, Szczesny, Szczesny, Gibbs, Mertesacker, Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott, Welbeck, Rosicky, Flamini, Debuchy.

Chelsea: Late decision on Costa

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will make a late decision on whether to risk Diego Costa’s fragile hamstrings against Arsenal in a potentially decisive match in the Premier League title race.

Costa has missed the last two matches, but could return ahead of schedule in place of Didier Drogba, who is fit after an ankle knock, as Chelsea seek a win which would see them move within three points of the trophy.

Striker Loic Remy (calf) is definitely out, so Dominic Solanke could come on to the substitutes’ bench if Costa fails to make it.

Provisional squad: Courtois, Cech, Ivanovic, Luis, Fabregas, Zouma, Ramires, Oscar, Hazard, Drogba, Mikel, Costa, Matic, Willian, Cuadrado, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Blackman, Loftus-Cheek, Solanke.
