Newcastle v Liverpool Saturday November 1 12.45pm

Newcastle: Tiote out

Cheick Tiote will miss Newcastle’s Barclays Premier League clash with Liverpool on Saturday after failing to shake off a calf problem.

The Ivory Coast midfielder has not figured for the Magpies since his return from international duty earlier this month, and will sit out once again.

Striker Papiss Cisse is also a doubt after suffering a reaction to the screws used to repair his fractured kneecap, while central defender Mike Williamson will not be risked unless he has fully recovered from a muscle strain.

Provisional squad: Krul, Elliot, Janmaat, Dummett, Haidara, R. Taylor, Coloccini, S. Taylor, Anita, Abeid, Sissoko, Colback, Cabella, Gouffran, Obertan, Ameobi, Aarons, Riviere, Cisse, Perez, Armstrong.

Liverpool: Sturridge still out

Liverpool have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s Barclays Premier League trip to Newcastle.

Daniel Sturridge (calf), Mamadou Sakho (thigh) and Jon Flanagan (knee) remain unavailable for selection, along with ex-Magpie Jose Enrique, who Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed is sidelined by a knee issue.

In Sturridge’s absence, Rodgers will once again make a call on the best option in attack from Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli, who is the only one of the trio to have scored this season and broke an eight-match goal drought earlier this week.

Provisional squad: Mignolet, Johnson, Lovren, Skrtel, Moreno, Gerrard, Henderson, Allen, Lallana, Balotelli, Sterling, Jones, Manquillo, Toure, Can, Markovic, Lucas, Coutinho, Lambert, Borini.

Stoke City v West Ham Saturday November 1 3pm

Stoke City: Crouch and Beardsley out

Stoke will be without suspended duo Peter Crouch and Phil Bardsley for Saturday’s visit of in-form West Ham.

Striker Crouch was sent off for the first time in Stoke colours in Wednesday’s Capital One Cup loss to Southampton and full-back Bardsley picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the same game.

Marc Muniesa is a doubt after going over on his ankle in training while fellow defender Robert Huth (calf), midfielder Glenn Whelan (broken leg) and striker Peter Odemwingie (knee) are all sidelined.

Provisional squad: Begovic, Sorensen, Wilson, Shawcross, Pieters, Cameron, Muniesa, Nzonzi, Adam, Sidwell, Ireland, Walters, Arnautovic, Bojan, Assaidi, Moses, Diouf.

West Ham: Hammers will wait on Sakho

Diafra Sakho will be assessed as late as Saturday morning as Sam Allardyce gives the West Ham striker as much time as possible to prove his fitness for their game at Stoke.

The in-form forward injured a shoulder in the 2-1 win over Manchester City last week and it remains to be seen if he is risked at the Britannia Stadium despite scoring six goals in as many Barclays Premier League starts.

James Tomkins and Matt Jarvis return to the squad after both recovered from thigh injuries but Guy Demel remains sidelined with Mauro Zarate (thigh) a doubt and Andy Carroll not in contention despite returning to training following ankle surgery.

Provisional squad: Adrian, Jaaskelainen, Cresswell, O’Brien, Reid, Tomkins, Collins, Jenkinson, Noble, Kouyate, Song, Poyet, Nolan, Amalfitano, Downing, Jarvis, Vaz Te, Cole, Zarate, Sakho, Valencia.

Leicester City v West Brom Saturday November 1 3pm

Leicester City: Morgan expected to be fit

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson expects captain Wes Morgan to be fit for Saturday’s clash with West Brom.

The defender picked up a knock in the defeat by Swansea last weekend but was set to train as normal on Friday.

Defenders Matthew Upson (foot) and Zoumana Bakayogo (knee) are both sidelined as is goalkeeper Ben Hamer, although the club received a boost with the news that his finger is dislocated rather than broken.

Provisional squad: Schmeichel, Smith, Morgan, Moore, De Laet, Konchesky, Wasilewski, Drinkwater, Hammond, James, King, Cambiasso, Albrighton, Mahrez, Knockaert, Vardy, Ulloa, Nugent, Schlupp, Wood.

West Brom: Olsson still sidelined

Jonas Olsson remains out for West Brom’s Barclays Premier League trip to Leicester with an Achilles problem.

The defender was the only member of the squad not to train on Thursday although Porto loanee Silvestre Varela will not play as he recovers from a groin injury.

Claudio Yacob is back after being granted permission to return to Argentina for personal reasons. Head coach Alan Irvine is expected to revert back to the side who drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace last week after making 10 changes for their 2-1 Capital One Cup defeat at Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Provisional squad: Foster, Myhill, Pocognoli, Gamboa, Dawson, Lescott, McAuley, Davidson, Wisdom, Baird, Morrison, O’Neil, Gardner, Dorrans, Mulumbu, Brunt, Blanco, Sessegnon, Samaras, Ideye, Berahino, Anichebe.

Arsenal v Burnley Saturday November 1 3pm

Arsenal: Wilshere expected to miss out

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is likely to miss Saturday’s Barclays Premier League clash with Burnley because of a knee injury.

Defender Kieran Gibbs faces a fitness test for an unspecified problem, while Arsene Wenger has said winger Theo Walcott will not be rushed back despite his return from a serious knee injury.

Laurent Koscielny (Achilles), Mesut Ozil (knee), David Ospina (thigh), Yaya Sanogo (hamstring), Abou Diaby (calf), Olivier Giroud (fractured foot) and Mathieu Debuchy (ankle) are out.

Provisional Squad: Szczesny, Gibbs, Mertesacker, Monreal, Chambers, Flamini, Ramsey, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sanchez, Welbeck, Martinez, Podolski, Arteta, Rosicky, Coquelin, Campbell, Bellerin.

Burnley: Marney set for comeback

Burnley midfielder Dean Marney is set to return from a hamstring problem for the Clarets’ trip to Arsenal on Saturday.

Marney has trained all week and could go straight back into the side but the game again comes too soon for Steven Reid, who has only just returned to training after a groin problem.

Midfielder Matt Taylor’s Achilles operation was a success but no date has yet been set for a possible return while striker Sam Vokes is still working his way back from a serious knee injury.

Provisional squad: Heaton, Trippier, Lafferty, Ward, Duff, Shackell, Mee, Wallace, Kightly, Cisak, Sordell, Marney, Jutkiewicz, Boyd, Gilks, Keane, Long, Barnes, Arfield, Ings, Chalobah, Jones.

Chelsea v QPR Saturday November 1 3pm

Chelsea: Costa back for Blues

Striker Diego Costa is available for Chelsea’s Barclays Premier League clash with QPR on Saturday after missing four matches with a hamstring injury.

Striker Loic Remy (groin) and midfielder John Obi Mikel (foot) are out, but Ramires is back from a groin problem to bolster the midfield.

Branislav Ivanovic is available following his suspension for his dismissal at Manchester United, but fellow full-back Cesar Azpilicueta is banned for the last of three games following his sending off at Crystal Palace.

Provisional squad: Courtois, Cech, Ivanovic, Luis, Fabregas, Zouma, Ake, Ramires, Oscar, Hazard, Drogba, Schurrle, Salah, Costa, Matic, Willian, Cahill, Terry, Christensen, Boga, Baker, Schwarzer, Solanke.

QPR: Taarabt could feature

Harry Redknapp could call upon QPR’s misfit midfielder Adel Taarabt for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League trip to Chelsea after the duo patched up their public spat.

The Rangers boss has refused to rule out pitching the Morocco playmaker back into action with Jordon Mutch and Joey Barton not back in full training until next week following hamstring problems.

Taarabt has apologised to Redknapp after biting back when his manager branded him “about three stone overweight”.

Provisional squad: Green, McCarthy, Traore, Dunne, Caulker, Yun, Hill, Isla, Henry, Sandro, Fer, Taarabt, Zamora, Vargas, Austin, Phillips, Kranjcar, Murphy, Hoilett.

Everton v Swansea City Saturday November 1 3pm

Everton: Quartet still out

Everton remain with the same quartet of players unavailable ahead of Saturday’s Barclays Premier League clash with Swansea at Goodison Park.

Kevin Mirallas and John Stones have been sidelined by hamstring and ankle problems respectively, while Bryan Oviedo and Arouna Kone are set to play in a practice game next week as they continue to work their way towards first-team action.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez has said the knocks Romelu Lukaku sustained in the 3-1 win at Burnley and Darron Gibson picked up in training should not prevent them from being selected.

Provisional squad: Howard, Robles, Coleman, Baines, Hibbert, Browning, Jagielka, Distin, Alcaraz, Gibson, McCarthy, Barry, Besic, Barkley, Osman, Pienaar, Atsu, McGeady, Lukaku, Eto’o, Naismith.

Swansea City: Sigurdsson set for return

Gylfi Sigurdsson should shrug off a groin injury to feature for Swansea in their Barclays Premier League visit to Everton on Saturday.

The influential Iceland international limped off during the second half of last weekend’s 2-0 home victory against Leicester and was rested for the Capital One Cup defeat at Liverpool in midweek while Swansea also expect midfielder Ki Sung-yueng to play after a shoulder problem.

Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, winger Wayne Routledge and striker Wilfried Bony will return after being stood down at Anfield while Argentina defender Federico Fernandez is free to play after having his red card for a tackle on Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho rescinded by the Football Association on Thursday.

Provisional squad: Fabianski, Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Shelvey, Dyer, Routledge, Sigurdsson, Bony, Tremmel, Bartley, Montero, Carroll, Emnes, Gomis, Fulton, Shephard.

Hull City v Southampton Saturday November 1 3pm

Hull City: likely to be unchanged

Hull could face Southampton with the same XI that started last week’s draw with Liverpool.

Goalkeepers Allan McGregor (shoulder) and Steve Harper (bicep) are still out, meaning third-choice Eldin Jakupovic continues in goal.

Gaston Ramirez is ineligible to face his parent club, Tom Ince has joined Nottingham Forest on loan and Michael Dawson (ankle), Nikica Jelavic and Robert Snodgrass (both knee) are all out.

Team (provisional): Jakupovic, Watson, Davies, Rosenior, Robertson, Chester, Bruce, McShane, Elmohamady, Meyler, Diame, Huddlestone, Livermore, Brady, Aluko, Quinn, Hernandez, Ben Arfa, Aluko.

Southampton: Mane set for Saints return

Sadio Mane could return to the Southampton squad as Saints look to maintain their impressive run of form at Hull.

Mane was rested as a precaution against Stoke in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night. The midfielder was expected to train on Friday in the hope that he will be included in the squad that travels to East Yorkshire.

Saints manager Ronald Koeman, whose team have won six of their last seven Barclays Premier League matches, otherwise has a full squad to select from.

Provisional squad: Forster, K Davis, Cropper, Clyne, Fonte, Gardos, Alderweireld, Bertrand, Targett, Schneiderlin, S Davis, Wanyama, Reed, Cork, Tadic, Yoshida, Mane, Long, Mayuka, Pelle, Gallagher.

Man City v Man United Sunday November 2 1.30pm

Man City: Silva setback for City

Manchester City midfielder David Silva will miss Sunday’s derby against Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League after being ruled out for around three weeks with a knee injury.

Fellow midfielder Yaya Toure is expected to feature despite being withdrawn during Wednesday’s Capital One Cup loss to Newcastle amid concerns about a groin problem.

Former England midfielder Frank Lampard is still expected to be absent with a thigh injury but playmaker Samir Nasri appeared to make a successful return in midweek from groin surgery.

Provisional squad: Hart, Caballero, Zabaleta, Sagna, Kompany, Demichelis, Mangala, Boyata, Clichy, Kolarov, Milner, Navas, Nasri, Toure, Fernando, Fernandinho, Aguero, Jovetic, Dzeko.

Man United: Rooney fit

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is available for Sunday’s derby against Manchester City after serving a three-match suspension.

Striker Radamel Falcao (leg) and defensive trio Phil Jones (shin), Jonny Evans (foot) and Paddy McNair (hamstring) are out.

Midfielder Jesse Lingard (knee) remains sidelined, but Antonio Valencia is available after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Rafael, Shaw, Rojo, Blackett, Thorpe, Smalling, Pereira, Blind, Fletcher, Valencia, Fellaini, Anderson, Carrick, Young, Herrera, Mata, Januzaj, Di Maria, Rooney, Van Persie, W Keane.

Aston Villa v Spurs Sunday November 2 4pm

Aston Villa: Hutton ruled out with ankle sprain

Alan Hutton has been ruled out for Aston Villa with a sprained ankle, meaning he is also a doubt for Scotland’s games against the Republic of Ireland and England next month.

He will not face his former club Tottenham in Barclays Premier League action on Sunday, while Philippe Senderos (thigh) is described as a “major doubt” by manager Paul Lambert and is unlikely to feature. Fabian Delph is out until the new year following surgery on his dislocated shoulder, with Carlos Sanchez expected to deputise in midfield again.

Provisional squad: Guzan, Given, Lowton, Baker, Clark, Okore, Vlaar, Cissokho, Richardson, Cole, Sanchez, Westwood, Grealish, Bacuna, Cleverley, N’Zogbia, Weimann, Agbonlahor, Benteke, Bent.

Spurs: Kane dilemma for Pochettino

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will have to decide on whether to hand Harry Kane his first Premier League start at Aston Villa on Sunday.

Kane pushed his claims for selection after scoring his eighth goal of the season in the Capital One Cup win over Brighton – in which Pochettino made 10 changes.

The likes of Hugo Lloris, Younes Kaboul, Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Emmanuel Adebayor are likely to return to the team but Nabil Bentaleb (ankle) and Kyle Walker (pelvis) are still missing.

Tottenham provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Naughton, Rose, Davies, Fazio, Vertonghen, Chiriches, Dier, Kaboul, Capoue, Stambouli, Paulinho, Dembele, Mason, Eriksen, Lennon, Townsend, Chadli, Lamela, Soldado, Adebayor, Kane.

Crystal Palace v Sunderland Monday November 3 8pm

Crystal PalaceWarnock waiting on Dann

Scott Dann will be given the weekend to prove his fitness for Crystal Palace’s Monday night Premier League clash with Sunderland.

The centre-back is yet to return to full training after knee trouble, but Eagles boss Neil Warnock is ready to give him every chance of facing the Black Cats.

James McArthur could also return after a hip complaint, while Damien Delaney is available after serving a one-match ban.

Provisional squad: Speroni, Hennessey, Mariappa, Kelly, Fryers, Delaney, Ward, Hangeland, Jedinak, Bannan, Ledley, McArthur, Bolasie, Thomas, Puncheon, Gayle, Guediora, Campbell, Johnson, Doyle, Chamakh, Zaha.

Sunderland: Fletcher fit to face Palace

Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher will be fit for Monday night’s Barclays Premier League trip to Crystal Palace.

The Scotland international limped off shortly after half-time in last Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat by Arsenal with a foot problem, but has recovered and is expected to resume at Selhurst Park, while there could be a debut for full-back Anthony Reveillere.

However, there is no other good news for head coach Gus Poyet with defenders Sebastian Coates (thigh) and Billy Jones (hamstring) and midfielders Ricky Alvarez (knee) and Emanuele Giaccherini (ankle) still on the sidelines.

Provisional squad: Mannone, Pantilimon, Reveillere, Van Aanholt, Brown, O’Shea, Vergini, Roberge, Cattermole, Bridcutt, Rodwell, Gomez, Larsson, Johnson, Buckley, Mavrias, Wickham, Altidore, Fletcher, Graham.
