Four-time world champion Katie Taylor has been placed in the tougher half of the draw in the women's lightweight category at the London Olympics.

The Bray fighter will have to face either Queen Underwood of America or Natasha Jonas of Great Britain in the quarter-finals, with Cheng Dong of China a possible semi-final opponent.

The Belfast duo of Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlon have both been given byes straight into the last 16 of their respective weight divisions.

Beijing bronze medalist Barnes will face either an opponent from Cameroon or from Morocco in his opening fight in the light flyweights.

Conlon has also progress straight into the last 16 of the flyweight division where he will fight either Ghana's Duke Micah or Jason Lavigilante from Mauritius.

Bantamweight John Joe Nevin has also been seeded, but he will be fighting tomorrow after being drawn against a Danish opponent in the last 32.

Wexford's Adam Nolan will be fighting an opponent from Ecuador in the last 32 of the welterweight divison on Sunday.

Middleweight Darren O'Neill is still waiting to find out who he will have to box first.
