Barcelona star Luis Suarez sent Christmas baskets to 500 children who are in hospital in his native Uruguay.
The baskets were sent to the Pereira Rossell hospital, a children’s and maternity hospital in Montevideo, and included food and drink for their families.

Each came with a Christmas message from the striker and his family, translated as -
“Wishing you a merry Christmas and a wonderful 2015 with your loved ones. Luis Suarez and family.”

The former Liverpool player is a controversial figure in Europe, but is understandably well-loved in his native country.
