Ruby Walsh 'stiff and sore' after Bellewstown fall

Ruby Walsh was stood down for the evening after a crashing fall in the Bellinter House Classic Mares Hurdle at Bellewstown.

Walsh was riding the 1-5 favourite Muthaza in the Bellinter House Classic Mares Hurdle and was in front at the fourth flight when falling.

Two of the runners in behind appeared to stand on him. Walsh walked to the ambulance, but gave up his two remaining rides.

"He's stiff and sore after getting kicked," said on-course Turf Club Medical Officer Dr Richard Downey.

"He should be fine in a few days. He has no serious injuries."

Walsh has two booked rides at Down Royal on Friday.
