Never short of an opinion, British journalist Piers Morgan turned his ire on Eoin Morgan last night - the Irish cricketer who plays for England and is their captain at the Cricket World Cup.
The reason for his annoyance is Morgan not singing the English national anthem before games.
And if you want to captain England, @Eoin16 - then sing the damn national anthem, too.

His comment got a mixed reaction online, with some agreeing with him.
@SMac5000 @piersmorgan @Eoin16 if he's not prepared to sing the national anthem of this country he captains, then he shouldn't be playing IMO

@piersmorgan @Eoin16 exactly what I just said!!!!! No passion!!!

Other pointed out the pretty obvious reason why he might not want to sing the anthem.
@piersmorgan @Eoin16 Give it a rest. He's only playing for England because Ireland haven't been given test status. Never a problem before.

And journalist Miguel Delaney’s sarcastic response points out how little it should actually matter.
@piersmorgan @Eoin16 definitely. If only all sportsmen sang their anthems, it would instantly solve all their talent problems.

@hillsey_92 @piersmorgan what happens if both teams sing their anthems with #passion? Who loses?

What do you think?
