Peter O'Mahony has passed himself fit to lead Munster in Saturday's Guinness Pro 12 final against Glasgow Warriors at the Kingspan Stadium in Belfast.

O'Mahony has been troubled for some time by a painful hip flexor muscle and left the field shortly after half time in last week's semi-final win over Ospreys.

However, that was partially a precautionary measure and he also sat out today's squad session at Thomond Park although stressing later that he was sure to be at the helm come Saturday afternoon.

However, the news concerning scrum-half Conor Murray is not good. In keeping with Munster's handling of knee injuries, Murray has visited specialist Ray Moran at the Santry Clinio with news of the examination likely in the morning. Coach Anthony Foley accepted that the Lion was unable to make it for this week-end but expressed total confidence in his deputy Duncan Williams while Cathal Sheridan has recovered from injury to take his place on the bench.

Simon Zebo has undergone the protocols concerning head injuries and passed the impact test but if the symptoms come back, then he will not be considered for selection. Hooker Eusebio Guinazu also missed training yesterday but is expected to be available
