O’Halloran claimed at the time that they were treated unfairly by management after being forced to train separately from the rest of the squad after what they saw as a minor breach of team rules.
To add to their frustration he said another player escaped sanction for a more serious infraction.
“We just thought it was double standards, one rule for us and a different rule for someone else just because he was a pivotal part of the team and we weren’t at the time basically,” O’Halloran said.
But today the Irish Independent report that O’Connell has been welcomed back into the team, with manager Davy Fitzgerald making it clear he had no objection to the player’s return.
The report states O’Connell has also apologised to the rest of the squad.
The panel, along with team management, had released a statement after O’Halloran’s remarks in which they said there were “numerous inaccuracies” in how the story was reported.
Clare open their championship campaign against Limerick on May 24.
