The UFC have announced the date for Conor McGregor’s next fight and who he will fight.
McGregor will meet sixth ranked featherweight Dustin Poirier on the UFC 178 card, on September 27.
Poirier, from the southern US state of Louisiana, has a 16-3 record and has picked up eight wins inside the UFC octagon.
The American last fought in April at the UFC Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale knocking out Akira Corassani in the second round.
Poirier has been calling out McGregor in recent days feeling that Conor has only broke into the top 10 because of the hype surrounding the Dubliner.
"That's why I'm doing this. That's why I'm saying let's fight. He says he's the real deal and all of these groupies think he's the real deal, so let's get in there and find out.
“I'll be the judge of how good he is,” Poirier told the MMA hour.
If you build them I will come.

UFC president Dana White has been good on his promise that McGregor would fight next in Las Vegas, with UFC 178 taking place in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the city.
The event will be headlined by the second meeting of UFC Light Heavyweight Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson.
Tell Jon I'm taking a cut of his PPV.
