Rory McIlroy's caddy has thanked him for a hefty windfall following the Northern Irishman's victory at the FedExCup.
McIlroy today revealed that he didn't need to check with his bank if his prize money had been credited to his account as his caddy JP Fitzgerald texted him to thank him for the triumph and subsequent percentage of prize money.
"I think his words were, 'A tsunami just hit my bank account, so thank you very much.'
"J.P. got a nice percentage of that, so I knew at that point it was already there.
"So the total was $1.05 million (€960,000). I think he was quite happy.
"He deserved it. He's a big part of what we do. He was with me when I was No. 210 in the world and when I was No. 1."
Nice work if you can get it.
