McGuinness names McBrearty and Toye in side to face Kerry
Jim McGuinness has made two changes to the side that overcame Dublin in the All-Ireland semi-final for tomorrow’s decider at Croke Park.
Returning to the side are Paddy McBrearty and Christy Toye with Rory Kavanagh and David Walsh missing out on a starting berth respectively.
McBrearty, who along with Toye impressed from the bench the last day, is named at right corner-
forward while Toye is expected to be deployed behind him at right wing-forward.
Whether, or not, McGuinness has named the two in his starting lineup only to leave them out as he did before the Dublin game when both were on the team sheet but had to settle for a place on the bench, remains to be seen.
Michael Murphy will again captain the team as Donegal seek to claim their second title in just three years.
Eamon Fitzmaurice named his team a little earlier in the week when he named stalwart Marc Ó Sé and Stephen O’Brien in his starting lineup.
O’Brien returns after injury having impressed earlier in the campaign while Ó Sé - who was no doubt disappointed to see his long run of championship starts ended by not making the 15 the last day out – will be looking to build on his strong showing when he entered the fray on 21 minutes against Dublin.
Colm Cooper, while not named among the substitutes, will be part of eight additional panel members just as he was in the last Mayo game when he wore the number 28 shirt.
