Ireland's Katie Taylor has won her fifth straight World Boxing Championship medal.
The Bray lightweight beat Azerbaijan's Yana Alekseevna on a unanimous points decision in Jeju, South Korea, this morning.
Her latest title secures a 17th major championship for the Olympic gold medallist.
Katie Taylor says she is delighted with the achievement. and appreciates all the support back home.
She said: "It's an absolute privilege to equal that record of five world titles.
"Thank God for another great victory and I know everyone at home was praying for me as well. It was just so encouraging and reassuring."
Billy Walsh, the Head of Irish Boxing's High Performance Unit, says Katie's achievements speak for themselves.
He said: "She knows her competitors have been chasing her for 10 years now, I think we are in the midst of seeing our greatest athlete.
"There is no sportsperson in this country that has achieved what Katie Talyor has achieved, along with obviously the Olympic gold medal.
"I think we are in the midst of seeing the greatest ever athlete that Ireland has ever produced."
