Irish skier out of Giant Slalom after fall in first run

Ireland's Conor Lyne is out of the Giant Slalom in Sochi after falling in his first run.

Lyne, who only got the go-ahead to compete yesterday due to his recent shoulder injury, expressed his disappointment on Twitter just after his incomplete run.

He said: “I’m disappointed that I didn’t make it to the finish today. However, I’m happy I made it to the start. I’m proud that I’m an Olympian now.”

The 20-year-old will take part in the slalom on Saturday.
