Ireland have proved themselves giant killers in past World Cups, with big wins over Pakistan in 2007 and England in 2011.
Ireland are in Group B along with South Africa, India, Pakistan, West Indies, Zimbabwe and United Arab Emirates and face the West Indies in their opening match on February 16.
