To mark the fact that Giro d’Italia's race leader wears an iconic Pink Jersey, spectators in Ireland are being urged to wear pink at the race's inaugural visit.
The race organisers are encouraging people to #pinkthecity and share their pictures on Twitter.
The colourful Giro d’Italia roadshow travels down the East coast on Sunday, May 11.
The 97th Giro will weave its way into Dublin entering the city at Baldoyle and travelling through Clontarf, Alfie Byrne Road, East Wall Road, North Wall Quay and Custom House Quay before crossing the Liffey at Talbot Memorial Bridge, City Quay, Lombard Street, Westland Row, and Lincoln Place.
It will then head for the finish line at Merrion Square at approximately 4.30pm.
The main hub will be the Giro Fan Park in Merrion Square, Dublin City, on May 10th and 11th which will include the Irish Cycling Show plus lots of Italian and cycling themed activities and foodie treats.
It will be beamed to a global TV audience of 775 million.
