GAA supporters fear traffic chaos ahead of replay
The news that Limerick city is hosting a Pride Parade on Saturday in addition to the All-Ireland semi-final replay has led to fears of traffic chaos on the day.
There had already been complaints about the match between Kerry and Mayo being held in a regional sports ground rather than GAA headquarters.
The news that many city centre streets in Limerick will be closed to facilitate the parade, which begins at 2pm, will do nothing to allay those complaints.

Speaking to the Irish Examiner former Mayo footballer John Casey summed up the feeling of many GAA supporters.
“People are petrified going down and I’ve heard some of them talking about going at 8am and others are talking about travelling via Athlone,” said Casey. “But no one even knows about this [Pride] parade.”
He continued: ”It shows quite clearly the GAA hadn’t done the research when they picked this game to be played in Limerick. I’m predicting a nightmare as there’s been no consideration for the Mayo and Kerry fans or players.”
Best advice for the fans is to leave early and allow plenty of time to complete the journey.
Park-and-ride options are available from three hotels, the Woodlands House Hotel in Adare, the Radisson on the Ennis Road and the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel on the Dublin Road.
