Isaac Boss has said Leinster must approach their RaboDirect Pro 12 match with Treviso on Friday with extreme caution.
The two teams clash at the RDS with the home team looking to drastically change their fortunes.
Matt O’Connor’s side have lost their last two games in a row, last weekend against Ospreys in the League and the previous week to Toulon in the Heineken Cup.
The Italian side will come to Dublin knowing they need a win to keep up their chances of qualifying for the new European Rugby tournament agreed last week.
They have an 8 point cushion over their Italian rivals Zebre and they have sent their own warning to Dublin.
Boss added with his side’s current form, losing is unaffordable from now till the end of the season.
“They have had a lot of disruption with players out for the Six Nations season and with the coach changing in the middle of the season.
“They have some really good players and all the way through, they have big strong runners and skilful backs as well so it’s definitely a big threat.”
Boss, who has been attempting to take the number 9 jersey off Eoin Reddan, has noticed complacency in his side over the last three weeks and identified where they need to tighten up.
“We need to be making opportunities and more busts but we can’t seem to do that. We need to be able to hold the ball for a little bit longer, there’s individual errors which have been costly at times, which is not like us so we just need to be able to control those situations more.”
“We have lost 2 away matches in the space of 5 or 6 days to two good sides so we have to give credit to them for putting us under pressure.”
“Coming in off the Toulon match, I saw it as an opportunity for me to stake a claim but I’ve made a few mistakes as well but we have a good squad and I don’t think there’s anything that needs dire change, we just need a little more focus,” noted Boss.
