Bad blood clear as AFC Wimbledon refuse to acknowledge rivals MK Dons in programme

Tuesday night saw the meeting of local rivals AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons and the match day programme was full of talking points.

It's the first time MK Dons have visited AFC Wimbledon since The Wombles were founded by Wimbledon FC fans in 2002.

That year, Wimbledon FC relocated to Milton Keynes to become MK Dons which led to the formation of AFC Wimbledon - who started life as a non-league team.

For the first time this season both sides are in the same league, and as MK Dons travelled to Kingsmeadow, the clubs history was still fresh in the memory.

There was no mention of MK Dons in the programme and AFC Wimbledon only referred to their opponents as Milton Keynes. It's quite the statement.

AFC Wimbledon won the game 2-0 and they are now five places ahead of MK Dons in League One

It is clear there is quite the grudge still from both clubs' recent history.
