O’Callaghan brace seals bad-tempered encounter
29/04/2005 - 22:32:21Shamrock Rovers 1 Cork City 3
George O'Callaghan scored twice as both sides finished with ten men at Dalymount.
Cork made it four away wins on the spin as they blitzed Rovers with two goals inside as many second-half minutes.
O’Callaghan hit the opener with a bullet header from an Alan Bennett corner on 49 minutes.
Kevin Doyle then scored a brilliant solo goal to double that lead within two minutes.
Rovers hit back when Gavin McDonnell headed home Cathal O'Connor's free-kick on 73 minutes.
But O'Callaghan sealed the win with his second goal of the night on 86 minutes before both City's Danny Murphy and O'Connor of Rovers were sent off for fighting.
