No fresh injury concerns for Leinster

Eoin O'Malley

Following Friday night’s victory over Ulster in Ravenhill, the Leinster medical team have reported no fresh injury concerns for the province as they prepare for Sunday’s Heineken Cup semi-final against ASM Clermont Auvergne in the Stade Chaban-Delmas (3pm Irish time).

Eoin O’Malley’s calf injury, which ruled him out of contention at the weekend, will be further assessed by the medical team and he has not been ruled out of contention ahead of the team announcement on Friday.

Gordon D’Arcy, Jamie Heaslip and Isa Nacewa, who were all rested at the weekend, will rejoin the panel having featured in the previous weekend’s bonus point victory over fellow Heineken Cup semi-finalists Edinburgh.

Bank of Ireland Players Player of the Year Rob Kearney won his 117th Leinster appearance last weekend and the Cooley full-back has scored an impressive six tries in seven European ties so far this campaign.

Sunday’s game will mark Leinster’s seventh European semi-final and centre Brian O’Driscoll now lies just a single try behind Vincent Clerc’s record of 32 in the competition.

Leo Cullen’s next appearance will be his 80th in the competition, including the dozen games he played for Leicester Tigers during his spell there.
