08/03/2010 - 08:55:18Newcastle have called a precautionary check for 8am tomorrow ahead of their afternoon meeting.
Clerk of the course James Armstrong is not anticipating any major problems but feels it best to check the track as another frost is possible tonight.
“We did have quite sharp frost last night and we have had a frost pretty much every night bar Friday into Saturday,” he said.
“We have been raceable by late morning or early afternoon every day though, so it is precautionary.
“We got down to -5C last night but we’re forecast 6C today and we could see a light frost tonight, although it’s more likely we will stay above freezing.”
