29/06/2006 - 21:36:57
British tennis sensation Andy Murray was carrying Britain’s Wimbledon hopes tonight after a nail-biting Centre Court clash with France’s Julien Benneteau.

The 19-year-old Scot was two sets ahead at 7-6, 6-4, 4-6 when the match was suspended due to fading light.

Fans on ‘Murray Mount’ were optimistic about the teenage star’s chances.

Emma Chatterton, 22, a student from Southend in Essex was dressed in a Union flag vest top with “Andy” and the Scottish flag painted on each cheek.

“He’s got a really good chance if his fitness is up,” she said. “The way his ranking has shot up from last year is amazing.”
