Minutes silence before Premiership games to honour Best

26/11/2005 - 08:39:03
A minute's silence will be held before every premiership match this afternoon in honour of George Best.

The 59-year-old soccer legend passed away yesterday after a battle with illness.

A book of condolences is open in Belfast City Hall and at Old Trafford.

In this afternoon’s games, Portsmouth face Chelsea and need a home win in their stand-off, while Arsenal have a home clash with Blackburn.

Liverpool face Manchester City and the Premiership’s bottom two, Sunderland and Birmingham go head to head at the Stadium of Light.
