The 2013 Track Cycling World Championships will take place in Minsk from February 20 to 24, organisers confirmed today.

The capital of Belarus will stage the first World Championships after the London Olympics, six weeks earlier in the calendar year than the 2012 event in Melbourne.

Temperatures are often -20C in Belarus at that time of year.
