Following on from the high-profile success of Sheamus on the WWE circuit, another Irishman has gone to America looking to find fame in the ring.
Bray’s Fergal Devitt grew up watching wrestling on TV and went to the UK to learn the sport as a teenager.
He fought in Ireland, the UK and the States and won Commonwealth titles before taking an opportunity to wrestle professionally in Japan in 2006.
Devitt spent the next seven years there, fighting under the name Prince Devitt because Japanese fans struggled to pronounce his first name.
RTÉ’s Reality Bites documentary crew followed him on a tour to gain an insight into the life of a household name in the crazy world of Japanese pro-wrestling.
The documentary airs tonight on RTÉ2 at 9pm - check out the promo video.
In July this year Devitt was unveiled as a new recruit on the WWE circuit, fighting under the name Finn Balor.
He had his first match in October and is developing a reputation for his extravagant use of body paint and comic book-style image.
