McQuillan and Coldrick to ref football semis

Joe McQuillan, who refereed last year's All-Ireland SFC final, will be in charge of the upcoming semi-final clash between defending champions Dublin and Connacht title holders Mayo.
The Cavan official has been pencilled in for the Sunday, September 2 meeting of the Dubs and Mayo at Croke Park, following an announcement made by the GAA today.
The first of the All-Ireland semi-finals will see Ulster champions Donegal taking on current Munster kingpins, Cork, on Sunday, August 26. Meath's David Coldrick will be the man in the middle for that game.
Coldrick, who refereed the 2007 and 2010 All-Ireland deciders, was not picked to referee any of the recent quarter-final ties.
With both McQuillan and Coldrick on duty for the semi-finals, it seems likely that either Cormac Reilly, Maurice Deegan or Marty Duffy, who all had quarter-final appointments, will get the plum job of refereeing the final next month.
