Larsson set for new Barca deal
05/04/2005 - 14:30:58Former Celtic striker Henrik Larsson looks set to repay the faith shown in him by Barcelona by signing a new deal with the Spanish league leaders.
The 33-year-old Swedish international saw his debut season with the club brought to a premature end after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in November.
He said: “I’m really grateful that the club have stood by me while I’ve been injured. I have more or less accepted an agreement to stay on for a further two seasons.”
Larsson also hinted he could carry on beyond the 2006-07 season, insisting age will not be the deciding factor when he does eventually hang up his boots.
“I can see myself playing for a few more seasons yet. We’ll have to see what happens. Age doesn’t matter to me.”
