Former Leinster and Munster centre/wing Kieran Lewis has signed for AIB League Division Two club Lansdowne.
The signing is a statement of intent from Lansdowne as they go about rectifying their failure to make a return to Division One, being edged out by Ballynahinch on the final day of last season.
Lansdowne have also been able to recapture the signature of their former player and ex-Connacht prop John Lyne, as well as Terenure goal-kicker Robbie McCarthy.
Elsewhere, Division One beaten finalists Clontarf have reacted to their near-miss last season by delving heavily into the recruitment market.
They have secured the services of AIB Club International out-half Killian Lett, former Ireland Under-20 prop Ben Barclay, both from UCD, as well as under-age international Patrick Mallon.
DLSP's Carl de Chenu also comes in, as does prop Warren O'Kelly, back at the club after a short stint coaching Suttonians.
Clontart's Division One rivals St Mary's College meanwhile bid farewell to former Leinster Academy hooker Richard Sweeney, who has left for life at university in England.
Sweeney was a member of David Pollock’s 2007 Grand Slam-winning squad that is now beginning to form the basis of Irish rugby going forward, with names such as Sean O’Brien, Pollock, Ian Keatley, Cian Healy, Felix Jones and Darren Cave making their name at senior level.
Ex-Leicester Tiger and Leinster hooker Gavin Hickie is returning to St Mary's for next season to fill the hole left by Sweeney.
