Kelly 'supportive' of using GAA stadiums in Rugby World Cup bid21/08/2012 - 16:22:09
Former GAA President Sean Kelly has urged the association to allow their stadiums to form part of an Irish bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
The GAA's Central Council announced over the weekend that it plans to put a motion before next year's Congress asking for up to six GAA grounds to be used as part of a bid.
Kelly, who helped oversee the opening of Croke Park to rugby and soccer in 2005, said he is "fully supportive" of the efforts taken by current President Liam O'Neill to help pave the way for the World Cup to be staged in Ireland.
