Huntingdon frozen off
Thursday’s meeting at Huntingdon has been abandoned due to a frozen track.
Clerk of the course Sulekha Varma had been due to inspect the track at 8am but after a sharp drop in temperature overnight, she made an early decision to call off the card.
She said: "It had dropped to -7C by about 10.30 last night and while it's not quite as cold now, it's below freezing.
“We’ll be lucky to get to a few degrees today and then we are forecast another cold night. The track is still 40% covered in snow and the majority of it is frozen so there’s no prospect of sufficient improvement.”
